While there are many online resources, There's nothing like face-to-face instruction/coaching from someone who can keep you from developing bad habits & understand the language of music. That's my mission.
A few years back my wife & I had the good pleasure to visit with Blues Guitarist B.B. King on the back of his bus following a show. As you can see, he is wearing a medal. The Presidential Medal of Freedom. He received it because of his philanthropy. He saw the need for instruments in Band & Orchestra programs in schools where funding had been cut. He wanted to help "Keep the wheel turning", so he purchased instruments for the schools with his own money! That inspired me to teach and it has been very rewarding for me.
To enroll in weekly classes, students must pay for the upcoming month's lessons in advance. Lessons last one hour and start and end at the assigned time weekly. Cost is $200 per month whether there are four weeks or five. Also, the charge is the same whether a student can attend or not for any reason. I'm no longer working by the lesson, rather on a retainer basis. I have to reserve this time as well as prepare, so once a student is committed, I plan my time and schedule around being there. Students are still asked to give me notice of an upcoming abscence in advance. Books & binders are a separate charge.
